Public Speaking I 1/25/19: Introduction to the Art of Public Speaking Series: In this first session, you will learn the basics of public speaking. -Know yourself and your audience -How to develop your presentation -The importance of practice -You will develop and deliver a short presentation in this session Public Speaking II 3/1/19: Marketing Yourself in Professional and Social Settings Building on what you learned in the previous session, you will learn some of the basics of marketing yourself. We will discuss -Job interviews and fairs -Networking events -Linked-In and other professional websites -Social settings -You will leave the class with a short presentation to use in a professional setting and having completed an exercise in starting conversations in real time. ******NOTE: Your registration is for the entire series (both dates). Speaker bio: Mr. Johnson has over 50 decades of experience in public speaking and training. Throughout Mr. Johnson’s career, he has been in positions of oversight and management. He has always had a focus on helping and training people. Robert Johnson has had the unique privilege of speaking before large audiences since elementary school! Since then, Mr. Johnson has created training programs and conducted one-on-one and group training. This has been for both businesses and individuals. He has given presentations to audiences of over 10,000! Mr. Johnson volunteers to train volunteers to interact and start conversations with people that may be met in public and private venues. Training involves classroom and onsite training, both group and one-on-one. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Johnson started RJohnson.NET, a business training and consulting company. Arriving 30+ minutes late may jeopardize your entry into the class or event. Please call or email as soon as possible if you are going to be late. ** This workshop is made possible by the generous contribution of time and expertise by a CBP volunteer. Please respect our volunteer's time by arriving on time. If you are unable to attend the class, please notify us promptly. Refunds will be made in accordance with our published cancellation policy. ** CANCELLATION POLICY: *Please review carefully for our cancellation policy has changed as of January 1, 2016. -Participants whose checks are returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $35 fee. -Participants who have paid for a class and do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, will forfeit their entire payment. -Participants wishing to receive a refund and have cancelled in a timely manner will be charged a 10% administrative fee. ****NEW LOCATION: This event is held at our center in Springfield - unless noted otherwise.
